Eagles Summer Box Lacrosse

Eagles Summer Box Lacrosse Programs

The Eagles Summer Box Lacrosse program was started by the Allen High School lacrosse staff, in an effort to offer local affordable lacrosse playing opportunities during the summer off-season. There are three different levels to allow players in Kindergarten through Twelfth Grade to participate. All players are only allowed to use short sticks, and they NEED to wear sneakers while playing on the cement surface. Water will not be provided, so all players should bring plenty of water. All programs take place at the hockey rink adjacent to the Edge Skate Park (201 St Mary Dr, Allen, TX 75002). Please contact David Streeten (davidstreeten1@gmail.com & 607-857-6122) with any and all questions pertaining to the Eagles Summer Box Lacrosse Programs.

Eagles Youth Summer Box Lacrosse Program

This is for players entering Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. The youth program is broken down by grade level in hour long sessions. Each session will consist of 30-40 minutes of skill building activities and drills followed by a 20-30 minute scrimmage.  The session breakdowns can be found below.  All players have the ability to win a 100% Attendance Award if they attend every session. The only acceptable absence, that won't count against you,  is for another lacrosse activity (i.e. lacrosse camp, tournament, or practice). The link above can be used for any current Allen players and  residents. If you are a non-Allen player interested in playing please contact David Streeten (davidstreeten1@gmail.com & 607-857-6122) to register or use the Non-Allen Player Link HERE

Eagles Summer Box Lacrosse League Rules/Game Format

All games will follow NCAA rules other than the exceptions at the bottom, and will be played in a five on five plus a goalie format. There will be three midfielders with one attackman and one defender. Wing midfielders must start with a foot touching the wall on a face-off with the defenders and attackmen on GLE. After the whistle is blown for the face-off all players are released. During the first two halves there will only be a face-off at the start of the game and the start of the second half. During the first two halves, after a goal is scored, the goalie will start with possession and throw an outlet pass after play is whistled to resume. There is no "offsides". Games will consist of two 20 minute running time halves with a three minutes halftime, and three minutes of "stop time" after the second half is over. During "stop time" the game clock will stop on every whistle and there will be a face-off after every goal. During the last two minutes of the second half, and "stop time" the leading team must keep it on their offensive half of the field. Mercy rules: If a team has a 20 goal lead in the first half the game is over. If a team has a 15 goal lead in the second half the game is over. If a team has a 10 goal lead there will be no stop time. Fighting is NOT tolerated, and will be dealt with harshly. Any player that gets into a fight will be ejected from the game, and serve a 3 game suspension. If a player gets into a second fight he will be thrown out of the league with NO refund given.

NCAA Rule Exceptions:

- In a flag down situation play will be blown dead when the ball hits the ground, if the ball goes out of bounds, if a goal is scored,  or on any change of possession.

ALL penalties will be time and a half

- NO one-handed checks

-NO Body checks/boarding

-NO counts other than goalie counts

-NO Shot clock
